Skills Enhancement Programmes

Soft Skills and Language Lab

On behalf of Department of English our college has conducted the skill development course entitled “Soft Skills and Language Lab” It is offered to students of all departments to improve their language and communication skills.

  • Courses on soft skills and language lab are intended to improve the communication skills enrich personality development, cognitive skills, quantitative aptitude and knowledge on foreign languages for the students. These courses are intended to enhance the employability of the students. The courses will help to bridge the gap between the skill requirements of the employer or industry and the competency of the students.
  • The courses of soft skills and language lab may be offered to all department students, those who have willingness for pursuing the course at any one academic year of odd semester.
  • This course consists of six hours per week and the classes are scheduled between 3.15pm to 4.00pm.
  • This course consists of 50% of theory and 50% practical hours.
  • The assessment will be done based on group discussion, quiz, oratorical practices and basic computer skills.
  • The soft skills and Language lab courses provided to enrich and enlighten the students for self improvement on that basis there will not be any examination and certificates provided to the students.

Life Skills (Yoga and Meditation)

Yoga and Meditation can supplement to student education. It can prepare the students physically and mentally for the integration of their physical, mental and spiritual faculties so that the students can become healthier, saner and more integrated members of the society and the nation.

Yoga education helps in self discipline and self-control, leading to immense amount of awareness, concentration and higher level of consciousness. Briefly the aims and objectives of yoga and meditation are:

  • To enable the student to have good health.
  • To practice mental hygiene.
  • To possess emotional stability.
  • To integrate moral values.
  • To attain higher level of consciousness.

Regulations of the Course:

  • Yoga education helps in self discipline and self-control, leading to immense amount of awareness, concentration and higher level of consciousness.
  • The course of yoga and meditation may be offered to all department students, those who have willingness for perusing the course at any one academic year of odd semester.
  • Every student must follow the dress rule strictly as instructed.
  • Every student is requested to come to the class with yoga mat.
  • This course consists of six hours per week and the time between 3.15 to 4.00pm.
  • This course consists of 50% of theory and 50% yoga practices.
  • The assessment will be done based on chanting mantra and prayers, breathing pattern, standing and sitting asanas and suriyanamaskara.

Basic Computer Skills

The course is designed to improving the basic level of appreciation programme for the common Students. After completing the course the incumbent is able to the use the computer for their basic purposes of preparing personnel / business letters by viewing information on Internet (the web), sending mails, and using internet banking services and so on.

  • The courses of Basic Computer Skills may be offered to all department students, those who have willingness for perusing the course at any one academic year of odd semester.
  • This course consists of six session per week between 4.00 to 5.00pm.
  • This course consists of 50% of theory and 50% practical hours.
